چکیده
Objective: Familial Mediterranean fever (FMF) is the most common disease that leads to secondary amyloidosis related persistent subclinical inflammation in Turkish patients. Pan-immune-inflammation value (PIIV), a recently-developed index validated predict prognoses of several malignancies. We investigated PIIV FMF Material and Methods: included 100 patients with regular follow-ups, defined as at least two visits yearly. Demographic characteristics, prominent attack features, treatment choices were noted. also calculated other inflammation-related laboratory results attack-free periods. In comparative analysis quantitative data, Student's t-test (for normal distribution) Mann-Whitney U test non-normally used. P <0.05 was accepted statistically significant value. Results: A total study. Forty-two male, whereas fifty-eight female. The between 18 69 years old, mean age study group 39.65 ± 13.83 years. MEFV mutation analyses eighty-six present medical record system. Exon 10 mutations detected 67 (77.9%) patients, non-exon (exon 2 3) 8 (9.3%) Homozygous 19 (22.1%). Although acute phase reactants, including erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), c-reactive protein (CRP), serum amyloid (SAA), significantly higher homozygous exon mutations, there no statistical difference groups. Conclusion: similar recent literature northern part country. need for biological agents male gender compared

Methods 40 consecutive patients suffering from FMF according to the Livneh criteria and 40 healthy controls (C) were included into the study in Herne, Germany. All participants were Turkish migrants aged ≥18 years. Patients were excluded if they reported symptoms of FMF ≤7 days prior to inclusion. Frequency of FMF attacks during the 3 months preceding the study inclusion was assessed. Patients ...
متن کاملPrognostic value of systemic immune-inflammation index in patients with gastric cancer
BACKGROUND Inflammation-based indexes have been used to predict survival and recurrence in cancer patients. Systemic immune-inflammation index (SII) was reported to be associated with prognosis in some malignant tumors. In the present study, we aimed to explore the association between SII and the prognosis of patients with gastric cancer. METHODS We retrospectively analyzed data from 444 gast...
متن کاملMicroRNAs as Immune Regulators of Inflammation in Children with Epilepsy
Epilepsy is a chronic clinical syndrome of brain function which is caused by abnormal discharge of neurons. MicroRNAs (MiRNAs) are small noncoding RNAs which act post transcriptionally to regulate negatively protein levels. They affect neuroinflammatory signaling, glial and neuronal structure and function, neurogenesis, cell death, and other processes linked to epileptogenesis. The aim of this ...
متن کاملPW01-012 – Canakinumab in patients with FMF
Results There were 19 patients with FMF (13 F/6 M) who were receiving canakinumab for various indications. Here we report 10 (6 F/4 M) who had at least 3 injections. Three patients had concomitant diseases such as psoriasis, ankylosing spondylitis and polyarteritis nodosa. The indications for canakinumab (150mg) were colchicine resistancy in 7 patients (>1 attack/month), amyloidosis in 2 and in...

Methods Totally 29 consecutive FMF male patients at attack free period and 17 male controls were included into the study. Physical examination (PE) was performed to detect Achilles enthesitis and/or retrocalcaneal bursitis, knee arthritis. US of the lower extremity were performed bilaterally. Grey-scale (GS) and power Doppler (PD) scores on a 0–2 semi-quantitative scale (0: no, 1: mild, 2: mode...
